FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. I would like my child to be on a team with their friend.
A. Unfortunately due to the size of our program (300+ players) we cannot accommodate team requests.
Q. I just signed my child up on AYSO512.org. When will I receive my soccer.com email to purchase uniforms?
A. The Commissioner has to go in manually to assign your child to a team before you will receive a soccer.com email for uniforms. This is done on a weekly basis. You will not receive an email immediately.
Q. When are practices and games for 10U, 12U, and 15U?
A. These teams usually practice twice a week for an hour or sometimes an hour and a half. Practices times are up to individual coaches. We are a volunteer-run organization so we let coaches choose their own practice times. You will know more about practice times when your coach first reaches out to you. Games are usually on Saturday or Sunday during the season, usually from 9am to 3pm start times. Remember that 10U, 12U, and 15U teams will travel for half their games to other areas mostly in Genesee County, like Clio, Montrose, Birch Run, Holly, Grand Blanc, etc.
Q. When are practices and games for 8U?
A. These teams practice once a week for an hour. Practices times are up to individual coaches. We are a volunteer-run organization so we let coaches choose their own practice times. You will know more about practice times when your coach first reaches out to you. Games are usually on Saturday or Sunday during the season, usually from 9am to 3pm start times.
Q. When are practices and games for 6U?
A. The 6U program is a one-hour program, usually on Saturdays, where your child will do 30 minutes of practice then 30 minutes of a game.
Q. When are practices and games for Schoolyard and Playground?
A. The Schoolyard and Playground program is a one-hour program, usually on Saturdays, where your child will do soccer activities for one hour.
Q. What equipment does my child need?
A. Soccer ball, shin guards, and water bottle are mandatory. Cleats are optional but recommended.
Q. What size ball should I purchase?
A. 8U, 6U, Playground will use Size 3, 10U and 12U will use size 4, and 15U will use size 5.
Q. I don't believe my child was put into the correct age bracket.
A. Age groupings are based on your child's age at the end of the program year. The current age groupings can be found on our Facebook page under photos. The website uses an algorithm and doesn't get it incorrect.
Q. Do we play in the rain?
A. Like most youth sports, we play in the rain at all age levels. It is very difficult to re-schedule games. Please be sure to have your player at the field even when it is raining; if players don't show up then the other players are let down if they can't play. Volunteer coaches are spending their free time to be there.
Q. What seasons do we get access to when we sign up?
A. Both Fall and Spring are included.
Q. When will my coach contact me?
A. Coaches will contact you when they've had a team assigned to them and they have the chance to do so.
