Volunteer with AYSO: Coach, Referee, Region Admin

AYSO is powered by volunteers like YOU! Help make a difference in your community by supporting youth development through soccer. No experience is required, just a passion for helping kids grow, play, and thrive! AYSO is proud to provide the training, both in person and online, and mentorship you need to be successful in whatever role you choose.

Current Volunteer Roles Needed

Current Volunteer Needs Include:

  • Regional Secretary – Attends board meetings, records minutes, and provides typed notes to the website administrator

  • Regional Referee Administrator - Recruits referees, ensures referees complete trainings and creates referee schedule

  • Field Coordinator – Helps coordinate mowing, lining fields, and basic field maintenance

  • Concessions Coordinator - Manages and staffs concession stand

  • Head Coaches – Lead team practices and games

  • Assistant Coaches – Support head coaches during practices and games

  • Referees – Enforce AYSO rules and help ensure safe, fair play **NOTE: This is a PAID position.**

  • Assistant Referees – Support referees during games **NOTE: This is a PAID position.**

  • Field Setup & Maintenance – Assist with field prep, cleanup, painting lines, and general upkeep

    AYSO's Safe Haven: Child & Volunteer Protection 

    AYSO’s Safe Haven program has been put in place to protect AYSO players and the volunteers who serve them. Safe Haven is the first program of its kind in youth sports, most notably in soccer.

    Online Concussion Training provides essential information to help coaches spot signs and symptoms of possible concussions and steps to take if one occurs.

    Step 2: Sterling Volunteers Background Check

    Sterling Volunteers Background Check

    Sterling Volunteers is AYSO's official partner for background checks. Sterling background checks are Level 1 screening to ensure the safest working environment for our soccer players.

    Step 4: Register for SafeSport

    Register for SafeSport

    As required by U.S. Soccer and mandated by the SafeSport Act of 2017, SafeSport is a training program focused on preventing child abuse and mandated reporting, and is a requirement for all AYSO volunteers.
