AYSO Playground Soccer is the perfect first step into sports — no pressure, no competition, just movement, smiles, and confidence building.
🌟 What is AYSO Playground?
AYSO Playground is a child-development–focused soccer program designed specifically for our youngest players (typically age 3). Using soccer as the theme, children work on fundamental motor skills (FMS) like running, jumping, balancing, kicking, and coordination — all while having fun.
Each session is led by AYSO-certified Activity Leaders who understand early childhood development and create a safe, encouraging environment where kids can explore movement at their own pace.
Best part? Parents or guardians participate right alongside their child, making it a special bonding experience.
📍 Where will my child play?
Playground Soccer is flexible and stress-free. Activities take place in small activity grids, which means we don’t need a full soccer field. Sessions may be held on part of a field or another safe open space — perfect for little legs and short attention spans.
⏱ How long are sessions?
Sessions last approximately 45-60 minutes, including breaks (because toddlers). Dates and times are set by the region and will be shared once registration is complete. Sessions are typically held on Saturday's or Sunday's. Seasons for this age group are 6 weeks long.
🚫 Is there competition?
Nope — and that’s the point.
There are no games, no scores, and no pressure. The focus is on:
Building confidence
Developing coordination and balance
Learning to follow simple directions
Social interaction with other kids
Having FUN in a positive AYSO environment
Children are gently introduced to soccer while learning skills that carry over into every sport — and life.
👕 What does my player need?
Each player receives an official AYSO uniform, including:
You’ll also need:
Shin guards (required at all sessions)
Shin guards must be fully covered by socks and fit ½”–1” below the knee
Athletic shoes or soccer cleats
Size 3 soccer ball
Water bottle
